Terra Lawson-Remer: Failing to Show Up for San Diego

San Diego faces serious challenges, from homelessness to public safety, but Terra Lawson-Remer has failed to meet the moment. Since 2020, Lawson-Remer has skipped more votes than all other County Supervisors combined, including key votes on homelessness, housing, and public safety. Her absentee leadership has left critical issues unresolved, and while she remains absent, the problems in our communities are growing worse. San Diego deserves better—someone who will show up, take action, and deliver results.

Contrast: Terra Doesn’t Vote for You—Why Should You Vote for Terra?

While Terra Lawson-Remer skips votes, misses meetings, and neglects her responsibilities, the problems in San Diego continue to escalate. From homelessness doubling under her watch to 765 missed votes on key issues like housing and public safety, Terra has proven that she’s not willing to do the job.

San Diego needs a leader who shows up, takes action, and works for the people—someone like Kevin Faulconer, who demonstrated his commitment to addressing the homelessness crisis, showing up to work every day to get results.

1. Terra Lawson-Remer: More Missed Meetings Than Any Other Supervisor

Who’s missed more meetings and votes than any other County Supervisor? Terra Lawson-Remer. Since 2020, she has failed to show up for critical meetings that affect the very people she was elected to represent. From homelessness to housing, to public safety, Terra has been absent when it matters most.

An empty chair with her nameplate speaks volumes—San Diegans are left without a voice, while Lawson-Remer skips her responsibilities. 765 missed votes and counting.

2. Ignoring the Homelessness Crisis

Under Terra Lawson-Remer’s watch, homelessness in San Diego has doubled. Since she took office, the number of chronically homeless individuals has spiked, rising from 632 in 2022 to 2,698 in 2024. This shocking increase occurred while she failed to attend a single meeting at the Regional Task Force on Homelessness, even though she is supposed to be the Vice-Chair of the task force! .

Instead of being a leader who shows up to work, Terra has ignored the homeless crisis, contributing to a worsening situation while others have struggled to pick up the pieces.

3. Missed Opportunities on Public Safety

As public safety concerns grow in San Diego, Terra Lawson-Remer has been nowhere to be found. Since 2020, she has consistently missed important votes on public safety and infrastructure, leaving communities vulnerable. Her absenteeism has hurt efforts to address the rising crime rates and deteriorating infrastructure that require urgent attention. San Diegans deserve a supervisor who shows up to protect their communities, not one who leaves an empty chair behind.

4. Failing to Address Housing Needs

Housing is one of the most critical issues facing San Diego, yet Terra Lawson-Remer has repeatedly failed to show up for key votes on this issue. As the housing crisis deepens, she continues to miss opportunities to support policies that could alleviate the burden on working families and residents struggling with affordability. While Terra misses votes, housing costs continue to skyrocket, and people are left with fewer options.
